Your first online couples therapy session
Deciding to start couples therapy is a positive, proactive step toward a healthier relationship. It is completely natural to feel a little nervous or wonder what will happen during the appointment.
You don’t need to arrive with a polished explanation or have all your disagreements sorted out beforehand. We start right where you are.

Think about what you each hope to achieve
Take a few minutes individually to consider what has brought you to therapy: a repeating argument, communication breakdowns, feeling emotionally distant, or adjusting to life changes together.
Write down a few thoughts about what you experience and what you would like to improve. You don’t need to agree on everything before we meet; those differences are exactly what we work with.
Prepare your practical setting
Choose a quiet, comfortable space where you can sit together and talk freely without being overheard or interrupted. Check your internet connection, camera, and microphone beforehand.
If you have questions about payment or how the video call works, feel free to ask me before the session.
An objective, non-judgmental environment
I do not take sides or point fingers. My role is to help you both hear each other clearly, uncover underlying emotional patterns, and find practical ways to communicate with warmth and mutual respect.
Both of you will have equal time to express your perspective, and we will collaborate on steps that feel realistic for your daily life.
Leave room to reflect afterwards
Try not to schedule demanding work meetings or social plans immediately after the session. Give yourselves a little time to relax and process the conversation calmly.
